The “About Me” section focuses more on my personal life rather than my professional life.

My interests lie in several fields. If you found common interesting points, I’d love to create some nice pieces together with you.

Music: singing, music composing, piano playing. I regularly pratice singing and piano playing. They bring a lot of joy and feeling of existence for me.

Dancing: I enjoy Hiphop dancing, and mainly because it is conveniently available in my current company. If time permits, I will participate in 2 dancing classes weekly.

Videography: filmmaking, video editing. Video editing takes a ton of time. I currently have a full-time job, which diminishes the time I have to do video editing. But I am still very interested in this field.

Digital Painting: I paint with a Wacom tablet and Photoshop. I am trying to learn from WLOP and some great digital painters to create my own gallery of paintings.

Photography: I’ve been doing photography regularly since my second year in the college in 2018, and did a ton of commercial photography before I joined a tech company to have a full time job. In my spare time, I will still take photos purely for artistic beauty. I don’t regularly post to the public as I use WeChat for my mainstream photo posting and commercial photos are delivered privately to the clients. Aviation: I trained for 4 years in the spare time to fly a single-engine land type aircraft Cessna 172M, and possess a private pilot license.

Filmmaking

I greatly enjoy photography and videography. I participate in student film production almost every quarter during my Ph.D. years. I served as the tech director in Fire Escape Films. I wrote and directed a film Fall Into A Trap in the fall quarter of 2023.

I worked as the director of photography and video editor for the film Tiger’s Eye in 2025.

I worked as the director of photography and assistant video editor for the film The Scottish Play in 2024.

I worked as the director of photography for the film Jack Solves Something in 2023.

I worked as the director of photography for the film John Hughes Lied, Elvis Died in 2023.

I worked as the director of photography for the film A Ghost Story in 2022.

I also worked on the films “BIKE”, “Echoing Woods” and several commercial videos including the “Sing! China Chicago edition”, but they were uploaded to Vimeo, the subscription of which ended. They are not publicly available right now.
